Gateway Lobster Pound

There are more places to get lobster rolls in Maine than you can ever imagine. I happen to be driving by Lunt's Lobster Pound and noticed the 4 cauldrons steaming out front. They had me hooked and I stopped in for probably the best lobster roll I have ever tasted. During my first visit it was cold outside so I ate inside with the family owners. They were great to chat with and suggested I have the warm roll. The lobster was cooked to perfection and delicious on the buttered roll with lettuce. I said I'd visit again and stopped on a very warm day. So I ate outside in a shady area. This time I tried the cold roll and it was also perfect. I will always make it a point to stop here when I am visiting the Bar Harbor area.

excellent food and great recipients , price is decent👍.we ordered potato salard, fried mushrooms, fried scallops, crab cakes, Lobster dinner and it was full of real taste. Lobster was so fresh properly boiled , fried scallops were perfectly crunchy outside deliciously juicy from inside, potato salard was wonderful. This place is local and authentic. very wellcoming hosts.I recommend this place for authentic seafood.

Amazing lobster rolls and lobster stew. Super nice staff and fast service. Definately a must!!!

Friendly little place with charm! While the lobster was great, the portions were small. Don't fall for the dessert since it is pricey! Another gotcha is parties of 6 or more the tip is automatically added. Ask before paying!

The best! I have been to a couple of Maine lobster resto and by far the best tasty lobster ever! Its juiciness and tastyness need no butter. One can eat their lobster away straight from cooking.They must have a secret cooking ingredient to make it so delictably good. The place may be packed, and they have enough sitting for a bit of a crowd and good space for parking!Its cooked fresh! You can see how your lobster is cooked on the left by the entrance door. Cooks are friendly and ready to tell about their lobster story.The blue berry pie is as big hit as much their lobster. It taste so good with Icecream on top! Alacart menu is available other than lobster. They have fries, fish, shrimp, soup lots of different pies.

Lobster great. Everything else average. Blueberry pie was a disappointment

Lobster what can you say. Wonderful. My husband who doesn't care for much seafood had an excellent fish sandwich.Great prices. Great food. Quickly made.Outside seating. The garden in back would make perfect place for a wedding!Pets welcome.

Could have been better. Lobster roll was good but a little high on price considering you get only potato chips as a side. Clam chowder was ok but nothing outstanding. Fried shrimp was decent on flavor but was mushy. Menu was small and pricey. Very old and outdated restaurant and no adequate air conditioning. It was very hot outside and very hot inside. The place looks like a flea market with the tons of old Christmas decor they are trying to sell. Compared to other restaurants in the area they are just not comparable.

Great food, loved the local decor. Very friendly service, who went above and beyond to accommodate our party. Lobster was delicious and fresh.
